The Intermediate Guitar course is a semester in duration. Course texts include, but are not limited to, the Mel Bay Guitar Method book 2, Introduction to Flamenco Guitar, and Hal Leonard Guitar Method book 2.

 

Students will be able to read and play standard notation for all six strings of the guitar in open, 1st and 2nd positions in the keys of C/Am, G/Em and F/Dm. Students are introduced to Barre chords and 7th chords in this course. Rhythmic patterns including eighth, triplets, sixteenth notes and dotted rhythms are incorporated.
